National Concert Hall, Vilnius
Vilnius is the capital of the Republic of Lithuania and the centre of cultural life in Lithuania. The city is home to the key professional musical culture establishments such as the Lithuanian National Philharmonic Society, the Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theatre and the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre. Vilnius is also home to Lithuania’s two key symphony orchestras, the Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra and the Lithuanian State Symphony Orchestra. Vilnius is a city with a rich cultural heritage that plays host to several arts festivals every year.
The new NATIONAL CONCERT HALL „TAUTOS NAMAI“ will address the long identified need for a purpose-built performance venue in the city, serving as a base for the resident symphony orchestras and providing a new space for a range of musical performances. In addition to the main, 1,700-seat auditorium the venue will offer a 500-seat multifunctional hall for performance, recording and rehearsals, as well as delivering an educational outreach programme.
Our goal was to create a world-class concert hall that is pragmatic and built into urban life with its pulsating community programs and integrated into the city's cultural life. We took sophisticated care of the acoustical design of the concert hall.
